Yes, Alter, I think it proves my point that you don't need young and/or professional models with standard sizes, age and looks to make beautiful photos.
Of course, 'Femme Fatale' is a real exceptional lady.
But this series convinces me even more to keep going on this path.
Thank you very much, Alter Ego!
XXX, my friend!
Oh, yes, I, or rather we, 'Femme Fatale and I, keep it up!
We are still working on more photos.
Soon to come!
Maybe even in colour, just for you!

Wow... it's been a while I didn't come to see your work. In my humble opinion this one is the best of the whole series so far... it makes me think of an early Alice Cooper being pictured here!

Nadja said...

Well, CLICK CLICK, even when this lady loves classical music the most:
SHE ROCKS!
We have so much fun!
Actually it would be worth to film the whole shoot.
Haha, wow, I never worked with a lady with so much energy before.
And she is 70! Seventy years young!
:-))
This is the third rock star she gets compared with.
So, it seems it shows what an energetic and amazing personality she is.
Thank you very much, CLICK CLICK!

Wow, beautiful! I love this series! I think she is smoking a pipe???

Nadja said...

Yes. She really smoked that pipe in the past.
But, she was wise enough to stop smoking!
But I loved that she brought it for the photos, it completed the 'look'.
Thank you very much, Unbearable Lightness!

I came here from your invitation to visit that you left on Unbearable Lightness's blog.

This is a wonderful series. While they are not blatantly sexual poses; your model has a great underlying sensuality with a slight mystery in those eyes. I love her expressive face. But I bet that those nice lines of patina we see came from many smiles not frowns and serious looks. Maybe we will get to see evidence of them in your future posts.

The hat is a great addition. I think the first and last images are my favorites. If you wanted to go a little dark just add a coiled bull whip hanging on the corner of the chair with that stare in the last image. She can be my ring master anytime. lol

Two things as I looked about here.

I enjoy your self portraiture. The series before this one is very nice with the old quilt as a background. I notice you work in black and white mostly but this series works well in color.

In your work with other models or as your call them - real people - I see that you have an empathy with them that takes them from ordinary to extraordinary.

I look forward to returning often to see what new images you will bring us.

Oh, wow, Mister Wood, thank you So much for this wonderful comment!
I shall tell my model what you wrote, she will be very happy, too.
Because you describe, like I couldn't, what our idea about this shoot was.
And yes, the photos are serious, but we laughed so much on the shoots!
This lady is very funny, and a great storyteller, too!
That's why we did several shoots: we spend too much time talking and laughing each time!
And yes, you will see some of that laughing in the coming set of photos!
I'm still working on them, but soon.
We want to show how much fun we had.
I agree with you by the way:
Smiles in art, yes of course!
A good thing, smiles and laughter are part of our life, so why not in art?

The self portraits, I've been scared of camera's whole my life.
It was a very long process before I came to photos like these last ones!
I feel like I can express myself with them.
And sometimes I do things with them that I feel I can't do with photos of other models, tell a story, kind of ruin them maybe... :-))
Every once in a while I get this urge to do more self portraits.
Think I got kind of hooked, haha.

Welcome anytime, dear Mister Wood!
I always enjoy your comments on Dr. L's blog a lot, too!
Warm XXX for you!
