hey nadja...wonderful pose and great shot...you should try that in a museum or in a public place...just in a "cold" atmosphere, you know...large, abandoned rooms with nothing else than just the model and bare, naked walls! XXX
I'm a big fan of shadows, too, D.L.! For the series for my thesis- works, for which I photographed 8 models, myself included, I tried to play with the shadows. I had placed my external flash behind a fabric with patterns to create light spots, and I tried to let the models take poses with the shadows in mind.
But, my coolest shadow- photo is a self portrait, with clothes, where my shadow embraces me! :-)) You can see that if you click on 'older posts' on that page.
But, since I'm always working with only the external flash, it's real hard to estimate the shadows.
Yes, Alter Ego, indeed, that would be cool! The thought crossed my mind, too: The elegant ballet moves, that was what she was doing, she did ballet when she was young, in contrast with concrete and brick and decay would be wonderful. I photographed my classmate Linda in a great old building once. I only had the build in flash of my Canon 1000D at that time. That was no good. And I tried to photograph in buildings with my external flash since I have that. But, in big and dark rooms the light of the flash is not nearly enough! I try to find an old building now to photograph the wonderful Daisy again. But it's hard, I have no car, it's hard to go places with the bus. But, not giving up yet. We'll see. I like to photograph on my attic because there I am sure I have enough light. And, reasonably soft light, because I can bounce the flash on the white wall. I am thinking about buying more light, but where does it stop, you know. I like to stay as Low Tech as possible! Before you know it you are working with all the lights more than with the models, I want to avoid that! Still, I think buying a softbox or a second flash with white umbrella will become unavoidable... Again, we'll see... :-)) Thank you very much, Alter Ego! XXX

I'm a big fan of shadows - so I like the interplay here with the wall and it's angles.
