I almost changed my mind about placing this one, but since I kind of promised more stocking photos, here it is. If you are fan of the stockings: Tomorrow I'll start placing more stocking- photos, they will be worn by 'Femme Fatale', a lady with great legs! As I'm sure some of you remember... :-))
Don't apologize, don't be fearful of this "type" of image. You are an artist practicing your craft.
Some people will like it, some will not. Those that don't can click that little box with an X in it.
The only reason not to post it is if it doesn't meet with "your" criteria of what is a good photograph: if "you" have a doubt about it being as good as you expected or wanted.
I'm sorry but I just don't understand the taboo in showing the vulva. I used to frequent a site where you got a rating with your critique for your posted images. They had a category called erotic: where sometimes, no often, people would get a bad critique and red thumbs for a picture such as yours. I would often write - The category is erotic - if you only want tit's and ass shots go to Glamor.
How do you have women photographed in the nude without sometimes showing their vulva lips? How can you criticize that part of the image when it is not the primary focus of the image? It is part of a woman. They all have vulva lips, yes there's a vagina behind them. Those lips are sexual and erotic just like her breasts, ass, feet, ankles, toes, arms, hands, fingers, ears, nose, mouth and/or lips, dimples, hair or lack of(top and bottom), legs, knees or eyes. Did I miss anyone's fetish?
And what about close-up and personal shots of those sweet lips. There must be millions of extreme close-ups of nipples - erect, wet, dripping, pulled, pierced, plus millions of up-close of ass cheeks from behind, yet show a close-up of her nether lips and whoa baby that crosses some kind of psychological line. Now the same view if she had panties on becomes unacceptable to a lot of people and then they might use the dreaded word...porn.
Oh yea; I did miss something - if you get her to open her legs and all women do and it works for many nude poses - you might see her asshole. They all have one of those and it's sexual and erotic too. What if she would reach back and open up her lips and cheeks to openly show us her beauty - oh my.
***Oh My*** Taboo - Taboo Boo Hoo - Boo Hoo If that was her choice I for one would rejoice
I absolutely agree, D.L.! The vagina is a part of our body and I think it's bit ridiculous to try and hide it in nude and/or artistic nude photography. On the contrary, I want to show it, because it's one, if not The most beautiful part of our bodies. Yes, it's erotic, but somehow I think the taboo is not just about that. It has more to do with people being afraid of the 'power' of woman, I think. The power of women being very self aware. And as I said to my model today, you have to be s strong person to show you from your most vulnerable side. Actually my doubt about placing this photo was not so much about the vagina, more a general lack of confidence, but, as you see, I try and fight it! :-)) Thank you very much, D.L. Wood! Always nice to read a clever and strong man, and especially about this subject, it's an important one to me! I thought we were over all this nude/prude problems after the 70's! I am still amazed every day to see how old fashioned, prude, and hypocrite many reactions on this kind of photography still are... XXX
